At Progressive Pours by Urban Grape, we understand that choosing the wine for your wine tasting event can feel intimidating. That’s why you’ve come to the wine tasting experts, as opposed to organizing the event yourself! We’re always here to walk you through your options, but here are three considerations to help you get started:
1. Consider the Demographics of Your Group
Are you hosting new recruits to your company, potential clients, or C-Suite executives? Each type of group lends itself to different themes. Younger employees may benefit from our Progressive Tasting 101 event, which helps them learn about wine in a much more accessible way. Potential clients often don’t know each other, so an interactive event like our Wine & Cheese or Wine & Chocolate tasting can help to break the ice. In general, C-Suite execs are enticed by our bespoke wine tasting events that feature cult wines from Napa or the Domaines of Burgundy. Tell us who will be in the room and we’ll take it from there!
2. Consider the Season
There’s nothing we love more than joining you on your company’s roof deck to host a rosé wine tasting event! Or pouring holiday favorites in December! Or doing a deep dive on sparkling wine in February! The wines we pour at events naturally ebb and flow with the seasons, so consider the time of year when thinking about your tasting theme.
3. Consider choosing a Collection Tasting
There are many companies that run wine tasting events, but we can confidently say that no other service brings the care and attention to highlighting underrepresented groups in the wine industry like we do. And while it’s an obvious choice to host a Black History Month wine tasting in February, a Women’s History Month tasting in March, or a LGBTQ+ themed tasting in June, we encourage the organizations we work with to highlight these themes all year round as a way to build intentionality in their companies.
