When The Urban Grape first opened its doors in 2010, we held Sunday night cocktail parties where we paired wine with food as a way to teach our customers about The Progressive Scale. We started calling these fun shindigs “Urban Affairs” - a cute play on words.
Before too long our customers started asking us if we could do these events at their office, and while we were at it could we also do their gifting? Over the years a booming part of our business was born.
In 2022, we realized that we had outgrown the name Urban Affairs. It no longer conveyed the bespoke experience that we were offering our business partners. We settled on the name “Progressive Pours by Urban Grape” as a way to better express our dedication to providing a truly unique, modern, and curated experience for events and gifting.
Our promise is to make wine fun and approachable, while also highlighting BIPOC winemakers, women in wine, and our proprietary Progressive Scale - a refreshingly modern way to learn about and shop for wine.
